You’re ready to get away from home and travel the roads in your RV. Which way should you go? East or west? How about south to sunny Florida? Summertime trips are great for the whole family, while the winter is always better spent further south away from the cold.

Check out some of the best RV parks in and around Sarasota, Florida, and plan your next action-packed trip for fun any time of year.

Sarasota Lakes RV Resort

Located on University Parkway in Sarasota, you can buy or rent a lot for your RV. If you ever decide to winter in Florida, you can own your lot and drive down when you’re ready. The resort has been open since 1971 and has grown a lot over the years. They offer different activities each month like bowling, horseshoes, bridge, pool, tennis, crafts, yoga, dancing, dinner, and much more. Rental rates are seasonal, and you can choose to pay daily, weekly, or monthly rates.

Sarasota Sunny South

This great RV park is on Doud Street in Sarasota. It’s known for being clean and neat, and the bathrooms are immaculate. Enjoy the dog corral and play area, among other amenities. When you stay here, you’re only five minutes away from the beach at Siesta Key — a great place to go any time of year. You can rent your lot or a cottage and, if you love it that much, maybe even own a home in the park. Rental rates are seasonal and available daily, weekly, monthly, and even annually.

Sun-N-Fun Carefree RV Resort

You can’t go wrong with Sun-N-Fun, also in Sarasota and a four-time winner of the National Mega Park of the Year award by the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds. It’s easy to see why they’re nationally recognized, with amenities like a day spa and pool, plus 150 winter activities and themed weekends all summer long. The residents and resort are both very active in the community, supporting charities and organizations like Habitat for Humanity, Coastal Cleanup, Relay for Life, Boys and Girls Club, Southeast Guide Dogs, and many more.

When you arrive to the resort on Fruitville Road, you’ll have four camping options. The Pull Thru and Deluxe are both crushed-shell drives with concrete patios. The Standard is on a grass site, while the Premium is on a grass site and includes a concrete patio.

Wekiva Falls RV Resort

Located outside of Sarasota in Sorrento, between Daytona and Orlando, you’ll have access to all the best parts of Central Florida, from Disney World to the beach and everything in between. Wekiva Falls is also a Top Rated Good Sam Park for 2016.

Enjoy amenities like the heated outdoor pool, dog park and dog wash station, playground, and 100 channels of cable TV. They also offer Wi-Fi, a laundry facility, and propane on site. In the summer, enjoy activities such as the Tiki Bar and DJ on the weekend or outdoor activities like canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. During the winter, you can play bingo, help with charity fundraisers, enjoy themed parties, quilt, line dance, or enjoy movie night.

When you travel down to the Sarasota area in your RV, you’re guaranteed to find a fun time and a warm spot to enjoy all that Central Florida has to offer.
