The beaches in and around Sarasota, Florida are some of the best in the world. There’s no better way to enjoy them than to park your RV close by and get your toes into the warm sand and blue waves. The RV lifestyle is popular in Florida, so you’ll find plenty of other RV enthusiasts to hang out with during your trip. Here are four beaches in the area that will satisfy your craving for a Florida beach getaway.

1. Turtle Beach

A glance at the name of this gorgeous location provides a hint about what you can expect to find here. Sea turtles come to nest on the beach, and while their habitat is protected by law (and common sense), you might catch a glimpse of a mama turtle and her young around a nest.

Turtle Beach Campground has 40 sites for tents and RVs, and offers free WiFi, laundry facilities, boat and kayak launch ramps, grills, a playground, volleyball court, and an impressive 2,600 feet of beachfront on Siesta Key. Note that pets are not allowed, so if you plan to bring a four-legged friend on your trip, you’ll need to look elsewhere.

2. Bradenton Beach

This small-town beach community is located off the Gulf Coast on Anna Maria Island. Come here for a quiet getaway filled with fishing, strolling, and sunning along the white sand beach. Kayaking and paddleboarding are about as exciting as things get around here, and that’s just fine with those who come for the relaxing vibe.

The closest RV facilities to the beach are the Holiday Cove RV Resort and the Buttonwood Inlet RV Resort, both located along the marina. Buttonwood is a smaller property that accepts Passport America, and Holiday Cove includes cable, Internet, and a heated pool.

3. Fort De Soto County Park

About an hour’s drive north of Sarasota, you’ll find Fort De Soto County Park. The largest park in Pinellas County, Fort De Soto is made up of five interconnected islands or keys. You’ll find stunning natural plant and animal life, over four miles of white sand beaches, and many outdoor activities.

The 238-site camping area is open to tent and RV camping, has water and electric hookups, laundry services, and a camp store. Special sites for campers with pets are available.

4. Fort Myers Beach

Heading south, Fort Myers Beach is about a two-hour drive toward Florida’s tip. The area is famous for its snow-white sand and abundance of water sports, including kayaking, parasailing, and wave running. There’s a lot to do here, whether you want to book a fishing charter or experience a thrilling dolphin encounter.

To stay on this beautiful stretch of sand, head to Red Coconut RV Park, which boasts a vintage flair and 450 feet of beachfront. Your site will come with a concrete slab, hookups, and even cable TV and Internet. Once you’re settled in, unfold your beach chairs and get ready to enjoy a spectacular sunset.

If you’re craving a beach vacation, hop into your RV and head to Florida’s Gulf Coast. Stop dreaming and get going!
